My story
My Background
Born and raised in Aarhus, Denmark I have always been interested in storytelling. This interest came through hip-hop music and film. I remember the excitement of being allowed to rent movies from Blockbuster every weekend – yes, before Netflix and various streaming services. As I grew older, I always had an interest in understanding how these elements created emotions. I’ve always struggled to express myself at the level I wanted to. This probably comes from growing up in a home where my father spoke Turkish and my mother spoke Danish, while all my interests were in English.
Photography Journey
In 2018, I discovered storytelling through video and photography during a life-changing backpacking trip across the USA with my best friend. During our journey, we met Ruslan and Zach, who opened our eyes to the creative possibilities of cameras, social media, and YouTube. Though it took several years to gather the courage, I finally pursued this passion full-time in 2022 by launching my own photography business. Despite starting without industry connections or experience, I quickly developed expertise in my craft. Today, I’m confident and proficient in both photography and videography.
Education & Skills
After dedicating significant time to developing my photography skills, I eventually encountered what felt like a plateau in my professional growth and creative development. While I firmly believe that learning is a lifelong journey that never truly ends, I noticed that the rapid progress and breakthroughs I had experienced in my early days were becoming less frequent and dramatic. This realization served as a powerful catalyst that motivated me to explore new horizons through the multimedia design program. The program presented an exciting opportunity to expand my skillset and develop expertise across multiple creative disciplines. Through this educational journey, I had the chance to not only wear different professional hats but to truly immerse myself in various aspects of digital creation and design. Future Goals
I am in the process of finding an internship where I can show what I’ve learned during my studies, but also demonstrate my abilities as a photographer/videographer. As can be seen on my page, I am very passionate about taking pictures and video. I take great pleasure in being able to tell a story this way. A dream of mine is to become a sports photographer for a renowned sports team in the USA, but I am very versatile and therefore open to many different directions regarding internships.
